watched TLC's NEW SKINNY.... AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
I am so freaked out!!!!!! i am so scared that i am going to end up with unbelievable amounts of skin...... there are a lot of differences between me and the people on the show. I am only 23, i am getting the sleeve not the GB and i am hoping and praying that my skin will be able to bounce back. Because i am so young i am not planning on getting plastics done because i want to have kids after i reach my goal. so i wouldnt want to stretch out newly tightened skin..... i am super worried right now and it really has made me crazy.... any advice anyone?!?!?!

Hey!! I too saw the show and it got me nervous and thinking, wooooow I could possibly end up looking ike that. I am 26 and I already have a child and want to have another plus I'm getting the sleeve not the bypass. I just will pray and work hard in the gym "during the weight loss" and not "after". I feel like that is important. We should do fine because we are young. You actually sjould do better because you are young and getting the sleeve plus you are starting in the 200's so you are considered a "lightweight".

I didn'****ch the show, but coming from someone who lost 105 lbs off my highest ever weight...I'll take the loose skin anytime! For me, I have lost the equivalent of (21) 5 lb bags of sugar. When I put it in that perspective, I can't believe I carried that much extra weight around for so long. I wouldn't normally carry 1 bag thru the store without a shopping cart! LOL
I was almost 50 when I had surgery. I was overweight just about all of my life and my skin was stretched by obesity and 3 pregnancies. I rarely exercised. I do have a lot of loose skin. My arms came back pretty well, but still some small batwings. My tummy and legs are the worst. But I was never one for skimpy clothes, so I don't have any problem finding things that look flattering on me. You've got youth on your side. Hopefully that will help. Start exercising as soon as you can. Not just for weight loss, but for toning. I discovered that I actually like to exercise and miss it when I can't.

The show was something....that's for sure. I think the point the surgeon was trying to make is that because they had the Rny they are malnourished and have a harder time with the surgery and recovery. I don't think that because we had the VSG it will make a difference with loose skin. Stretched skin is just that no matter how you lose the weight. As many on here have mentioned and even during the show they mentioned that exercise makes you strong and healthier and give you a better canvas for when you have the skin removed, but it doesn't help your loose skin shrink.

I guess I would rather have a little extra skin than a shortened life. Insurance does cover the skin removal for certain reasons so don't get too upset yet. I know that we all wish we could turn back the clock and not have gotten so overweight but all we can do is look forward.
