An "Oh Noooooooo" (No boys allowed)
The trend I've noticed after being here for a few years is that a woman who was well-endowed before becoming obese tend to keep her boobs. Those of us who were not as blessed before obesity, and had only fat filled boobies tend to lose our boobs. I remember when I was this same weight back in maybe junior high. I was a 34B or so, now I'm a tiny 32/34 B cup. And, I had a gift card to VS. After being measured (this is a good story for shock value), I tried on 18 different bras, different styles, up and down the sizes, I walked out with $50 worth of body sprays and lotions. Not one of the VS bras looked right on me, they weren't comfortable, they weren't flattering, I felt like I was rolling my boobs up to sit on a shelf in those bras. The $4-$5 maidenform, izod and bali bras found at Ross look fabulous and my pocketbook appreciates them ! ! !

Yeah, i'm right there with you. I bought some Hanes bras Target for the same reason As I was debating between the 32A/B's and 34A's this weekend (I really need a 33"), it occured to me that it kind of begs the 'why bother' question. I don't even have enough to roll up. A bra now only serves to keep me from being a human thermometer. I went for a run last night braless for the first time since, I dunno, puberty.
LOL! (human thermometer)
You know what, I have some girlfriends with very large breasts (strange thing to say ...) and while they look fantastic, they sound like a huge PITA. They get backaches, they get in the way of things, make it hard to find clothes that fit, and exercising requires serious strapping-down. There are benefits to small ones, for sure.

I wish we could choose where we lose weight from! I was already small-chested for my size - barely a C cup when I started losing weight. Now I'm a B... barely. Sigh.
Although, I've also lost a lot around my face and neck, so losing "higher" isn't always a bad thing.
I remember hearing a looong time ago that you tend to lose weight in the reverse order of where you gain in. I don't know if that's really true, it just one of those things that sounds fun and possibly true. But, so far for me it has worked out that way. I gained in my face and neck last - and it was the first place to go too!

I was into an 44 G before surgery (my BMI was 43). Major PITA always had backaches, boob slapped myself when exercising all the time, which let me tell you, I am shocked I never gave myself whiplash. Now I am 67 lbs lighter (BMI 30.3) and I am in a size 40 DD. I still have 30 something pounds to lose so I know they are going to get smaller, but all I can say is thank god. Honestly boobs that are too big are great for attention which as an obese person, any positive attention was nice but they are not worth it. I am so glad to have lost some of them, I don't want to be too small, but now that I am going back to playing soccer I look forward to being able to run without trying to reign the boobs in.
I am actually still giggling about the boob slapping and whiplash and i read this a while ago! LOL
I can totally relate. I'm about a DDD/E and currently workout with 3 bras on... and it STILL hurts. I LITERALLY have to hold and cradle my boobs to do jumping jacks!! There's no controlling these puppies. I wonder how it will be after my surgery... time will only tell.

Yeah, if only we could spot reduce where we choose...such a nice fantasy. LOL.
We only lose where our body decides, in order to finally get my belly almost flat, I had to also have my chest flat!
I went from 38DDD to 32C.....and it is a struggle to fit bras, since there is not much in way of volume at the top, and I have to roll in the skin under the arm and do all kinds of gymnastics to keep the "boobs" under wraps...LOL....They are just like someone described, empty bags of skin, hanging down..so sad....
BTW, not always true about still staying the size you were when you were skinnier....since I am now smaller than I ever was chest wise than even when I was a skinny teenager....I used to be a reliable 34D and thought I would stop losing in my chest when I got to that size, but unfortunately, I keep shrinking.....and I haven't even gotten to my teenager weight yet (about 10 more pounds)
To katie....did a surgeon tell you that you would only be left with A cup after lift only? I really am contemplating a lift only, but am wondering if I don't have enough breast tissue left either....If it is just mostly skin, I guess I will have to have implants, but I'd rather not get the implants.
