Pureed Stage
Okay I'm officially on purees. Well I was yesterday too but spent all day traveling to pick up the kiddo so lived on protien shakes and vitamins all day.. bleh. Anyway, I picked up a few things at the store last night like low sodium tuna in water, a litle greek yogurt, and some canned salmon but does anybody have any ideas for other meat pureed stuff? I am a meat eater with a few veggies thrown in (usually raw as Im not a huge fan of cooking all the nutrients out of my veggies) but other than my honey's mashed potatoes which are super duper creamy (you can put gravy on them but then you would just have potato/gravy soup) I am fast running out of good tasting ideas for pureed foods and quite frankly I am not too keen on living on tuna and canned salmon for the next 2 weeks. I want to do a bunch of cooking today so I can get used to having ready to heat and eat stuff in the fridge at all times. Especially as I am supposed to go back to work next week. But coming up with stuff thats remotely tasty is presenting something of a challenge.
The mushy phase is rather boring, so good thing its temporary!!
I had to blenderize everything for my mushy phase. Added enough liquids so that the end result was of applesauce consistency and slid off a spoon. Here's what I ate.
egg salad
scrambled eggs
tuna salad
chicken salad (use canned chicken since it's super soft)
chili
baked fish
laughing cow cheese wedges
ff refried beans with a little melted cheese
cottage cheese
ricotta cheese
the lowest carb cream soups I could find and then I added protein powder to them
ff plain greek yogurt (added a little splenda and cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice)
no sugar added applesauce
sugar free pudding
still used protein shakes, broth and other liquids to supplement mushies
I got creative with the flavors I added to things. I used different spices and liquids to switch it up. I must have made my chicken salad ten different ways: ff mayo, greek yogurt, dry hidden valley ranch seasoning, dry mustard seasoning, mild buffalo sauce, ff sour cream, etc.
Hope this helps!

P.S. I would stay away from raw veggies for several months yet. And ditch the mashed taters... they are all starch. If you must have them to get through this stage, then so be it, but ditch them the minute you can go to soft foods and regular foods.
Sounds like you are doing well!

They are pretty soft, especially if you let them warm up to room temp for a bit. I still blenderized them even when they were pretty soft. I blenderized everything because that's what my plan called for at that stage.
I often wonder how string cheese is mushy...

I am in the mushie stage and I have been eating sliced deli ham, I put a touch of cream cheese on it, last night I had a crab cake for dinner, hardly no carbs in it, that went down well, cheese sticks.....Im gonna put a pork roast in the crock today and see how that does. You can also try chili....I would put that in a chopper before eating though......just my ideas
