I had the same thing from week 2 to week 4. My doctor said it is the stitches pulling in the muscle and it happens to 1 in 4 who have the surgery.
Just be careful how you move and realize it will go away soon. He told me by one month it would and it did pretty much exactly as predicted. I think I took a liquid pain reliever to sleep for a bit, and I know it really hurts, but it will be over soon!
Welcome to the loser's bench and good luck!

You're not crazy. Because that's the incision they pull the stomach through, there was more manipulation. It's gonna hurt... But know that it does eventually stop hurting. Mine took a little over a month.

And I gently pushed/applied pressure on mine and usually that was enough to stop the discomfort.

I hear so many different responses when it comes to incision pain.

Did you have stitches, or did they use the skin glue? I had the skin glue and I swear I haven't had any pain/irritation at my sites. And I have a fairly large one on my belly button with no problem.

Also, I did not have a drain after surgery which I think could affect the healing and irritation inside. Have you been sleeping on your stomach/left side? I had my week check up earlier this week and I asked when I would be able to sleep on my stomach (because that's how I usually fall asleep) and she didn't give me an exact time frame, but she said to avoid it for now and if I do sleep on my side to sleep on the right side since we had major work done mainly on our left side near the liver. So if you are sleeping on your left side maybe that is a factor.

I'm no expert but thought I would share some possibilities.

Hope the healing goes quickly. Best of luck.

That pain is pretty typical.  It's the one they used to pull your stomach out from and when it was stitched up on the inside, they work it in with a muscle to prevent hernias later.  Of all the openings, that one hurt the longest.  Don't let it worry you...

Mine hurt for 3 weeks (jan 16).  Try using a warm heating pad and maybe use the stomach binder to prevent too much movement if you have one.  It will pass and so worth it.

Was sleeved on 1/31 and i have the EXACT same thing- was at the DR's on the 8th- he assured me that is normal to feel a pulling/burning/stabbing feeling that incision is where he cut through the stomach muscle and pulled out the rest of my stomach. I am 9 days out and the pain has def lessened i can now laid down flat and then get back up by pushing up with my arms without feeling like I will die! lol for the 1rst week thank God for my hubby or I would have been stuck in a number of chairs..
