NEED HELP DESPERATELY

I went through something similar around Christmas time. It didn't last but a few days here and there but was super hard to get back on track once the carbs were introduced. How I got back on track (which was super hard) was to cut the carbs out. I made the decision that the first day I would cut the carbs out but would eat what I wanted in protein and veggies (chipotle helped...lol ). I maybe ate a bit more then I should just to satifiy myself mentally while converting back over. Just know it will be  hard the first couple of days but once you get through the first 2 or 3 it will be easy again. If your craving carbs get some roasted soy nuts or if you need something sweet I like carmenl latte adkins shakes.....they are really good. GOod luck and keep in mind you don't want to waste your Sleeve.

When I am desperate, I reach out, tell another person what I'm going to eat for the rest of the day, and commit to discussing it with them before I change my plan.  Then I go to bed, grateful that's all I ate, and wake up and do it again until I feel on more stable footing (i.e., til the carbs get out of my system).  It sounds weird, I know, but I don't want to call anybody and say "I think I'm going to eat 4 protein bars for lunch, just going to let you know!" or "Instead of pork tenderloin for dinner, I think I'll eat half a bag of cashews."

It may not be this bad for you, but I *try* to take this stuff pretty seriously when it happens to me.  I can spiral out of control pretty quickly and it's much harder to get back on the horse for me than for some folks.  I had to give up the recreational sugar pretty much completely.  I know that sounds kind of draconian, but it actually was such a relief.  I cannot moderate those foods.  I certainly have other trigger foods, but nothing like sugar.  Admitting how defeated I was trying to control it was the start of a whole new freedom for me.

I know you can do it!  It is serious business, but we have a serious tool and I finally feel on even footing with my food demons.

I love this idea of holding yourself accountable to a specific person by telling them if you change your eating plan during the day.  Thanks!  I'll be using this new "tool" in my aresnal..............I just love this board, such brilliant people!

I feel your pain..........and you've gotten great advice, which unfortunately can only be acted upon by you.  I have been battling ever since I stopped doing the low carb and I know that it is the carb craving cycle that makes me feel "out of control."  Thanks for posting this.....I'll be utilizing a new tool and recommitting to eliminating refined carbs!  Good luck to you and all of us who need to "get back to basics."  This is just part of our new way of life which means we need to constantly correct when we get out of alignment...........it's just a little detour, not the end of our journey.  It's over only when we GIVE UP!
