DAMN CARBS !!!!! they are killin me...and i cant lower them !
For your soft foods can you have the canned chicken breast? it is really moist and makes a great chicken salad. If you go to costco they are really a good deal too.
Here was a bit of a sample of my meals during puree/soft stage
B: Pure Protein Shake - 3gm carbs total
S: Wedge soft cheese (laughing cow or brie melted in microwave) with a few of the Club mini crackers. (My dr allowed baked crackers on puree/soft stage). The mini Club are 10gm carbs for 17 crackers so I would have 8 which was only 5gm. 6gm carbs total
L: canned chicken breast salad made with mayo and maybe some franks red hot and seasoning
D: taco meat (again, allowed to eat hamburger not in patty form). I would brown meat then run through mini food processor to get it extra fine. Top with a bit of melted cheddar, a bit of guac and sour cream.
Dessert (sometimes): sugar free jello or a couple sugar free butterscotch to suck on.
I also recommend going to lowcarbfriends.com They have a recipe room that is full of ideas. I am sure there are many that will fit your diet needs.
Hope this helps!

you have to keep in mind u are eating way less than before so the carby food wont effect you at first but once your body starts getting used to u eating less it will effect you wich may be around the time you can eat meats and such so i wouldnt worry until u can eat normal food then you need to eat good
I keep low fat cheese sticks in the fridge at my office so that I'm not faced with choosing something I know I shouldn't. The cheese sticks each have 8 grams of protein. Greek yogurt mixed with sugar free or low sugar jelly or 1/4 package of sugar free instant pudding mix is great too. A glass of skim milk with sugar free chocolate syrup is a great way to get protein and fluids - 1 gram of protein per ounce. Hard boiled eggs stay well for a couple of days in the fridge as well. It is hard at this stage. Even now, I miss certain foods, not so much for the taste, but for the convenience. The cheese sticks are probably the easist, and they come in 12 packs or bigger. Good luck - it does get easier, we promise!!!
If you're on softs, go with this:
SF Jello
SF Pudding Cups
CarbMasters Yogurt (Kroger, QFC, Fred Meyer)
Cottage Cheese
Tuna Salad
Egg Salad
Plain Greek Yogurt (with Splenda if you want)
The first few weeks are hard, but they're also crucial to getting the maximum weight off. Just don't do what I did and dig into a pizza at week three (I was fine, but I still don't recommend it).

I recently did the 5 day pouch test. The first 2 days i could not believe my carbs were so high and then i realized it was because of the milk. 4 shakes a day 8 oz of milk each time. I don't particularly count carbs but they are always between 20-3o. Meat plus vegetable and a half a lo carb protein bar maybe. So yeah being on a full diet does make it easier in my opinion. I will also say i didn't worry about carbs until i got to a full diet. The re-fried beans and cream soups and things that made the puree and liquid stages bearable were carbs.
