Make some tuna or chicken or egg salad and put it in the food processor if you're not allowed to have it as is (I was, as long as it was very moist).
Get some plain yogurt and add crystal lite for flavoring.

i know i know...my dr. said not to worry bout carbs yet, but i keep watching u guys.....i eat things like oat bran dry cereal...not good too many carbs...but being a teacher, i need a morning snack that i can eat w them...i researched on lunch and now know that i should eat eggs, fish, and stuff like that.....i do need to cut out the little milk from the coffee, the sugar and use the truvia i bought....i had very mushy veggie chili, but the carbs were 35.grrr....i need to wrap my head around this...oh and now i know the mashed pot. i was eating last week r carby too.....my foods that i eat are pretty much everything i listed, just in a diff order...oh i also eat....brussel sprouts chewed very well, fish, i did have jello tempations...i sometimes want something sweet. i have had oatmeal and cream of wheat too...lol, i need to get it together huh ??????i mean i think 18 lbs in three weeks aint bad, but now that i am journaling all of my food...i can see the carbs !!!!!!!
string cheese is on the soft diet and could be eaten with the kids. also eat sf jello instead of the Temptation...it is full of sugar. Re the veggie chili, many people ,including myself, subtract the fiber in the vegs and only count the net carbs. that brings the carb count down. since we don't absorb fiber why count it?
i would suggest chili made with meat as a better choice, less carbs, more protein.
instead of the things you are eating potatoes, cream of wheat full sugar jello I would suggest:
string cheese
baby bel cheese
laughing cow cheese
eggs, scrambles with laughing cow cheese, deviled boiled egg salad
pureed meat salads, chicken, ham, tuna make the tuna with egg more protein less carbs
chili
finely ground beef with taco seasoning, sour cream cheese
ricotta cheese nuked with marinara sauce and cheese,
marinara sauce with ground beef no pasta
sf jello pudding
18 pounds is good but it could be better. I would imagine you want to maximize this early time and get the most weight loss possible. it won't always be this easy,at least not for everyone. you need to get in the habit now of eating to maximize your loss. otherwise you will have some success early but might stall out down the road.
do a search for elinas green chicken soup and lean turkey veggie chili they are great

I would tend to agree with your doc and not worry about them at this point. Are you concerned about the carbs because of the way they make you feel, your past experiences, or because other people are concerned about them? There are many ways of successfully going about weight loss with the sleeve, and low carb is just one of them, albeit a popular one.
You are at the dreaded three week stall point where virtually everyone has a stall or at least a major slowdown in loss - it's our physiology at work, so that shouldn't be a worry. At this point, with as few calories that you are presumably getting in, it makes little difference what the composition of those calories are, beyond those dedicated to our minimum protein requirement. Once you start getting into a wider variety of foods, you will have plenty of time to work out, with your doc and his program's guidance, what works best for you.

Don't beat yourself up so much! If you've lost 18 lbs in 3 weeks then you're doing something right!! I can't wait to say I only lost 18 lbs in 3 weeks - lol. I'm in month 6 of my pre-surgery insurance mandated diet and I only lost 3 lbs in 3 weeks. I'll trade ya - lol. I'm going from a 1500 cal to a 1000 cal a day diet starting today to see if I can lose a bit more before surgery. Chin up and be proud of how good you're doing!!!
