I blogged this but I'm so freaking proud of myself... I must share...

So, I'm 7.5 months out, or there abouts. I've lost 120 pounds as of today. That means I've reached the 100 lost since surgery. I include my preop diet weight loss because that was hard and I'm counting it, darn it!

Today was an interesting day. I did The Color Run here in Austin. There is zero percent of a chance I could have done that 8 months ago. It was a 5k (3 miles) family fun run/walk. BUT it was muddy. And I don't mean just a little. I mean, 4-8 inches. We kept losing our shoes. We kept getting stuck. We lost socks. We had mud up to our ankles. We actually only did 2 to 2.5 miles because we took two short cuts but it still took almost 2 hours. It was a sloggy bog of a thing. The backs of my thighs are killing me. But ya know what?

I did it.

*I* did THAT.

How freaking cool is that?

Yeah, silly... I was in the shower washing caked mud off of my feet/legs/arms and started bawling. Why? Because I had mud all over me and it was freaking awesome! *laughing*

This surgery has honestly given me my life. I know people say "life back" but I've been overweight since kindergarten. I mean... today was awesome, mud and all.

Yeah, she's proud. She wants to do more walks :)

I can't run at all. I'm scared. my stomach is so loose and still has so much fat in it, it hurts to jiggle it around too much. And then there's my knees would have taken so many years of abuse. I'm just scared of going too fast too soon so I'll wait a bit before I even try that.

I dunno about the beach, that's pretty hard too. We moved SO slow, it was ridiculously slow actually, but it was SUCH A slog. It was kind of crazy. Looking back I cannot believe my kid was such a troooper. It was pretty nuts.
