odd question
I don't think it's an odd question at all.

This is the one we have in my house, and it works great! We've had it over a year and have not had to replace the batteries yet either

I bought a HealthMeter one at Walmart about 6 months ago & it's been fine. It has ability to guesstimate your BMI & some other stuff too (like bone density & ? ?)...I never really pay attention to the other stuff, just weight & BMI. It was about $40. One thing I noticed when shopping is that some come with the long-lasting batteries & some take AA, AAA, etc. I didn't want to fuss with changing batteries out a lot so I liked the one with the long-lasting stuff. Good luck!
I am not terribly knowledgable in scales, but this one is a recent purchase and it works great! The reviews say you really have to hit it to get it started, but they must have fixed that because mine doesn't need that at all. A good price and a good product.
