A Tumor? For Real?

Barbara, I was surprised they told me about it over the phone too and then I have to wait until my appointment on the 7th to discuss it. But, at least this gives me some time to do some research and have a coherent list of questions ready when I do go in. And I didn't know it was SOP to have the fundus checked by pathology but I guess that makes sense. See if there's anything in there that might point to any possible problems and get it nipped in the bud is the best way to go I guess.

The first thought was "OMG". Then the second was "F'yu, it's benign". I hope everything will work out for you.

Just got off the phone with the surgeon. yep he called me. He said that they only found the one tumor and although benign it was the type that can turn cancerous and that I will have to be monitored for a while to make sure that nothing else crops up. Apparently this surgery saved my life. In more ways than one.

Dont worry if its benign.   The whole reason I had the surgery started with a stomach tumor.     I saw my surgeon to have a tumor removed from my stomach  and he explained that is was non-cancerous and that this type of tumor was more common in people who are obese to morbidly obese.  That led to the conversation of bariatric surgery and they set my appts from there to get me on the road to weight loss surgery.    I am 10 months out and have not had another tumor.

Anie, that's the kind of news I like to hear! And hopefully with all the changes I am making I wont be hearing anything else about tumors in what's left of my stomach.
