Anyone not reach 50% by 3 months and STILL get to goal?

Hello,
I am making myself a little nervous. I started this journey at 347 and am now at 297  Which I am super happy about... but I am thinking long term and am wondering if I am losing too slow...

My personal goal weight is to be 180lbs . I think I would feel comfortable and be healthy at this weight.
After reading and researching a lot on this board I read this thread:
http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/VSG/4456510/Whats-the-ave- rate-of-weight-of-loss-l-saw-a-post-a-while/#36856971

My question is... has anyone not reach the 50% by three months and still reached their goal weight. According to this I would need to have lost 83lbs by three months. I am down 50lbs now and have 7 weeks to go until my three months.

My program looks for 30% excess weight loss by three months and even then they emphasize working the program to reach goal.

I might make fifty percent at six months and I have full intention of making my goal which I might change to 150 160 will see when I get to the weight. Nutri system people told me I should be 145 but I think that might be really small. I also plan to be much more muscular so I might not make it to that weight and pay more attention to the size which has changed since the last time I was smaller. I will be happy at 165 where I made it with their plan twenty years ago lol. Will see when I get there.

Yes, there are many people, especially heavier weights, that do not hit the 50% mark by three months, and still get to goal eventually.  You are doing amazingly well and as long as you continue working your program, you will get there.  It's great to have goals, but make sure the main focus is staying on the eating program that is working for you.  It's great to have goals that pull you forward, but only if they don't discourage you in the meantime.  You can do this!

And don't compare yourself to what men or smaller weight people having this surgery have accomplished, everyone is different and you can make it. I would love to have 100 off for sure within the year to me that is a big accomplishment, well didn't put that weight on that fast so don't expect to drop it that fast. Even if it takes two years and you are learning the healthier lifestyle you will be happy.

How tall are you Jackie? I am 5'4" (and a half) and Dr. tells me I should be at 145. I am thinking for my age (and amt of saggy skin) I would be ok with 160. Guess I will see when I get there.

Thanks

Everyone moves or loses at their own personal rate of speed.  I did not lose 50% of my goal by 3 months.  I had lost maybe 30lbs.  I am not at goal right now I am about 7 lbs from goal.  I stalled for about 6 weeks to two months but now am losing at about 1/2 lb a day again.  I may or may not reset my goal weight depending on what my Dr says....not my weight loss Dr but my personal physician who will take into consideration my personal medical issues.  I personally don't think its a good idea to put yourself into a time limit or goal by a certain time because if you don't make it then what?  Are you a failure?  No you take one day at a time and all that comes with it and keep putting one foot in front of the other till you hit the checkered flag at the end, no matter how long it takes.  Good luck!

I see people on the 50+ BMI board that have made goal and I'm sure they didn't lose it that fast. I'm at 19, almost 20% EWL right now and I'm 7 weeks out. 12 more days will be 2 months for me.  I would have to lose 70 more pounds to be at 50% EWL in the next month and a half. That would be ridiculous.

Also, from my understanding, EWL is not your "personal goal," it is what puts you into a healthy BMI so you wouldn't compute your excess weight using 180, you would just use that as your personal goal.

we were sleeved the same day...I too make myself nervous and I do so by getting on the damn scale everyday! A habit I know I need to break, as because as soon as that scale stops I am freaking out thinking " I am a slow loser...that's it that's the last pound I'll ever lose" I have decided as long as I am doing what I am supposed to 100% of the time, I will succeed.
I def am not reaching 50% weight loss in 3 months...I am down 34.5 pounds since surgery. Your 50 is fab!
