Sad, from Post Secret today...
I agree with Mimi. This is not just about getting healthy physically. We are entire human beings and our heads are screwed onto the bodies we are trying to modify. I have seen posts from people on this site who say that they still feel fat when their BMI is normal. I actually asked my therapist about this and she told me that is was a misperception similar to bulimia! Treating our heads is so important to our long termed success with both weight loss and happiness.
Yup. It's hard. And yes, I myself have days I feel like I haven't lost an ounce. I also have days when I feel too skinny. *laughing* Oy.
Glad you have a therapist. I think it's an important part that so many people miss.

I am so thankful that you post your honest feelings and thoughts because this is exactly what my therapist has warned me about post surgery. How do you cope with the new changes in your life. She has mentioned upping my cymbalta before surgery which is scheduled for 2/13. (2 weeks from today). My internist isnt in sync with that idea right now since she said it aids in gaining weight. She would consider after surgery if it is necessary. Losing our friend who is always sympathic and there (food) is a major loss and dealing will be difficult. We have each other to relate to and again I am so thankful that you post exactly how you feel.
Thanks for giving me an idea of what it may be like...together we will find a way to comfort and allow us to find what we need instead!

:) Luckily it's not something that weighs me down constantly, but it is a feeling that is there from time to time. Maybe everyone doesn't get that way, I don't know. I am glad I had a counselor already though :)
