I was paying bills this morning..ugh...and I was thinking about how our lives are really going to change!! I noticed the pages in my check register all the UN-necessary fast food purchases with my debit card, and thought...those are NO longer going to be there. I noticed the grocery store purchases..those are going to slim down! No more buying 2 packages of everything because our family can eat massive portions. We are all in this together and a lb of meat is really enough! Not only are we going to slim down and be healthier, but my bank account is going to get fatter! I opened the cabinets and the refrigerator last night and envisioned how nice it is going to look with NOTHING but healthy, concious choice foods instead of boxed meals and canned goods. (We both work full time, go to school, and have 2 kids..so I WAS all about quick and easy) but through this whole process, I have learned about food prep and making things ahead of time. I know it seems this should have been a given, but I think that people get so wrapped up in grab and go that making healthy ahead flies right out the window:( I am day one of my pre-op diet and had to run to the grocery store this morning for cat food. I am VERY happy to say that as I walking down the isle to get it, nothing in there looked good to me. I was thinking about the contents and how unhealhy and sugar packed the things were I was passing. I did not and will not go through the wls process process to fail! ok..enough about me rambling. Just an observation I thought I would share!

WELL SAID. I agree with you 100% I did the same thing with the bills and I have been on protien diet for a while now but wow my account has found the weight I lost, YES!!! Thats where I want that weight to go into my checking account. As to the fast food that was a big deal for me also I went Daily if not more then once a day. we just need to remember that when we shop to stay to the outside of the store.

Good luck

My husband and I had a slice of pizza this afternoon (our weekly splurge). We shared one slice. It was only $3.00 for a lunch for 2!! AND we were full!

Well I can definitly say that you have the right attitude. And after your surgery your really not going to be hungry. Sometimes you will think that you want some things only because theyre there, but you really wont eat them..When the weight starts to come off you will start to feel so much better about yourself that you will only want healthy foods.. Good Luck

Ha! I think our overall bills have gone up, to be honest. I buy better quality foods now, not to mention all the supplements, the counselor, the extra days with the trainer, the gym memberships, the workout clothes... etc etc etc.

And both of my kids eat everything not nailed down (they are 9 and 11).

I'd much rather spend it on those thing than Burger King though
