Fluids & protein shakes

Ok I am 4 days out and I cant remember if your protein shakes count toward your daily fluid intake... Anyone know??? Thanks

I was told by the Doc. that shakes do count toward your daily fluid intake.

Awesome!!! Thank you girls this fluid thing is no fun!! I was getting in over 90 oz before surgery and now I'm struggling big time...

Well, the main thing to remember is to stay hydrated not so much the quantity because your tummy probably can't take 90 oz. yet. Remember sugar free popsicles count towards water and, once your diet allows it, so does sugar free jello and soups and broths.

Best of luck to you. Remember, sip, sip, sip throughout the day because dehydration right after surgery is nothing you want to mess with. If you can drink your little 1 oz. medicine cup every 15 minutes you will be doing good.
