Today is going better. Went for accupuncture this morning to quit smoking and in spite of having red little welts on my hands, feet and ears I really liked it. Had only 2 spots that I felt any pain at all and they stopped bothering me shortly after the needles were in. So far today I have only had one cigarette. And it made me light-headed. I automatically reached for a cig a little while ago but the honey reminded me I had had one and I had no problem say ing "Oh yeah" and leaving it alone. So maybe this is going to work! (keeping my fingers crossed.)
So I think I am going to eat dinner and go to bed and see how I do tomorrow.

Congrats on a great day. When I quit and used to from habit reach for one I'd do the old V8 head slap and remind myself "Oh yea I don't smoke anymore!" That kinda helped reinforce that I am now a non-smoker. Keep it up, you can do it!!!

I smoked for about 30 years and quit 4 years ago in Feb.

I used to reach for  a cigarette without thinking. My body knew when it needed nicotine . Thinking about it came after that.

So I used the nicotinelozengers for a couple weeks. I popped one in when I reached for a smake and then went backck to what I was doing. After  about an hour or so, I realized I hadn't had a cig. I dfid this for a couple weeks then it was easier to "talk" myself out of smoking.

Hope this helps,
Good Luck

Being a non-smoker ROCKS!

Thanks for the encouragement y'all! I appreciate it so much. I had a little victory this morning. My brain was all "we NEED a cigarette" so i grabbed one and lit up. My body immediately went "Whoa! What the heck is that? Get it out! get it out NOW!!!" (Dizzy, hard to breathe, and just bleh!) The smell of it was even making me feel ill. So... looks like all I have to do now thanks to acupuncture is beat my brain into submission!
