OT: Clothing advice for a wedding! (and I'm not the bride lol)

I need some help! I have to go to a wedding on Saturday at a Seikh temple. My friend said we don't have to wear traditional Indian clothing, but we have to have our head covered and  nothing tight fitting/revealing.

So, what the heck do I wear? I wil be seeing a lot of friends I haven't seen in at least a year, so I want to go shopping and get something nice instead of wearing my big baggy clothes.  I dont think ive ever been to a wedding, so what do people normally wear?

Not sure what to use for a head covering......a nice simple dress is the ticket.  Dress slacks are okay too.  Since it is cold -- a jacket works well.   Have fun!

For a headcovering you should be able to get away with using a linen scarf from Walmart, Target, or a nicer dept. store. The idea is to cover your hair. Do a google search for headcoverings to get an idea of how you can tie it.

Even if you wear something loose in it's style, your friends will be able to tell there's a lot less of you. You can always have some pics on your phone, etc to show off if someone asks you.

The main thing is to follow the rules. You could be asked to not attend if you fail to comply with the religious beliefs. I'd rather cover up and attend, then to not be able to be a part of this happy day for your friend.

Best wishes.
