Best thing I had was ipod with headset and a sleep mask.  Really really helped me sleep.  Great luck to you and may your recovery go as well as mine ;)

Ditto what Tracy said... exept I wasn't in hospital long enough for shampoo, pj's and robe (hehe).  The only essentials I couldn't do without was my cell phone (and yes, I did forget the charger) and my chapstick.  I never really felt like messing with my computer, but many do.  Good luck, we'll be waiting to hear an update.  All will be well and you'll be back on the loser's bench very soon.

Best of luck to you! Cell phone and charger and ipod and charger were the best for me. Also a robe to cover your hospital gown if you get cold, and non-slip slippers for walking the halls. The hospital is going to provide you with everything else you may need.

i was reeeeeally happy i brought my lip stuff & pillow.  there's no reason why you must wear the hospital gown outside of the the OR.  so if you want, bring what you'll be comfycozy wearing.  yoga pants, tank tops, & a soft wooly shawl were awesome for me.  your nurse will be able to help you with your IV (easy) if you want your own tops on.

good luck!!!!

Good luck in the morning!! I will be sending lots of good vibes your way in perfect surgery and speedy recovery! Im taking my own pillows and 2 extra quilts cuz no matter how many hospital blankets they pile on me I can never get warm enough in the hospital (honey will wash them as soon as we get home)along with my cell phone, charger, lip gunk, and lotion. Anything else I need honey can bring over for me. Oh yes and toothbrush and deo.. I hate being stinky at all and I forgot both of those last time i had to go in for surgery.

In addition to those above I brought extra socks and a fleece throw. I was freezing. Don't forget the nonslip shoes for walking ( easy to slip on without bending) and chapstick. hair brush and clip for ponytail.
