Are you on metforman? The 47 level tells me your insulin is too high. I would check with your primary doctor and seeks the advice on how to level your sugar level. I am not a doctor, but in supporting my wife it depends on what she eats, when and what. She is off insulin but went from extended release metforman to regular metforman.

I had surgery end of November, my A1C 2months prior to surgery ( 5.9).  For last few years in the 6.x. , but was on high dosage of insulin (T2 on pump).  After surgery, I had highs in 200's, slowly added insulin back,  but as I have lost weight  dosage has reduced. Since surgery I take 1/3 of the amount of insulin I used to take.
I am stable with reading between 77 & 110,  I get some highs after the shakes, but it comes down.

So I am hopeful, it go in remission.   Keep testing often,  And watch carbs,  I was told it could take a year to totally get off of insulin.  We are all different so hard to say.  I have been T2  as long as you.

I just went back to basics and testing a lot.
You might also try to level out calories during day and not have big meal at night.   I sounds like you might be taking too much insulin to cover/ or timing of shot for dinner.

I wish I could help you more, but my only experience is with my wife. In my research a lot of type 2 is controllable with diet, diet and exercise. Unfortunately you maybe in the exception group.. Good luck to you.

I was sleeved 12/19.  I've been T2 for about 6 years and have been on metformin and the pump (last 2 years).  I've been off insulin since surgery.  My bs is still high.  My endo added onglyza to the metformin.  BS starting to come down, but not in the normal range yet.  Hopefully over time and with more weight loss I will be able to keep bs within normal range even if I have to continue on the oral meds.
I am worthy of being healthy.

The main reason I chose this surgery was for my diabeties. I had a 9.4A1C prior to surgery and it was up and down. I had a couple of low blood sugar events and I drove a semi, and so scarey. I was on 15 units of insulin for a time and then metformin 1000mg twice a day and tried to control my blood sugar with diet. I did have some pancreas action and my surgeon told me I would be drug free after surgery.
He was right! Day 3 in the hospital they shut of the insulin pump and my blood sugar stayed down. I check it now periodically and it runs in the high 80's to low 90's. It all depends on your pancreatic output and your weight for this surgery to help with blood sugar numbers. But one thing to remember is, even if your type 2 diabeties has not gone away, you are still far better off with the weight gone. Good luck

I was on three diabetic meds and off all of them post surgery BUT had to go back on Metformin once I added milk products to my diet.  I hope with weight loss this will get better. So Rob you may wnat to watch your levels a bit closer as you add more foods to your diet.
