What kinda cheese do YOU like in your cheese crisps?
I've started making these instead of eating just cheese. I love cheese and these are a great way to enjoy it and give me that crunch I constantly crave. Plus I figure at least a little bit of the oil cooks out of it, so it's... err... healthy right? ;)
So - what kind of cheese do YOU most enjoy in your cheese crisps?
Right now, I'm loving Edam. I love the saltiness and it's a little lower in fat (and calories) than some others. It also cooks up VERY nice in the microwave.
I love extra sharp cheddar too. Asiago actually worked very well the other day. Yummmo!

I know someone will ask... cheese crisps are easy. You take cheese (any kind seems to do - slices, little piles of shredded or cubes) and put in small 1-2 oz piles on parchment paper (I'm told wax paper doesn't work) or a microwave save glass plate I guess will work too. Then you nuke it for 45-90 seconds. It will cook up and get crispy. Mine firm up after 60 seconds, I let them drain for a minute on a paper towel. You can also cook them on the stove or in the oven.

I only use parmesan, romano, or asiago cheese. I never use reduced fat or fat free cheese or any of the soft cheese.
I add all sorts of spices/seasonings to mine depending on what I want that day.

Oh man, your posting and all the responses have me absolutely craving these. I have never tried but I really must. They sound yummy and if you drain the fat then it's really only the salt that's not so good, right? OK, I know they're not health food... but they sound like a nice treat from time to time.

Apparently I need to step my cheese game up! I only know like 4 kinds and 2 of them sucked really bad (mozarella and spicy jack), Mozarella tasted like popcorn and spicy jack tasted burned and VERY salty, though my cat ate it.
I am dying to see pictures of what looks/tastes amazing. I have watched youtube videos but its just not working for me.
Sad to say but I am THIS bad in the kitchen and this is what has led me to eat fast food 3 meals a day for over 10 years and weight 380 pounds (now down to 344 pounds.... yee!)
I know that cheese crisp are a no brainer, but if anyone has any good videos or good pics of their batches, I would love to see. I NEED them in my life :)

I can't cook either, but these are fairly easy. Parchment paper and cheese. I nuke mine until they are just ALMOST done and then let them sit on the countery for a minute. I don't like mine burned though...

Check the label if it's prepared. You can make it yourself pretty easily with chickpeas, tahini, lemon and whatever spices you want. Just process it together. (says the woman whose husband does the cooking and stuff) :)
