Ashley, I totally feel your frustration. We are only about a month different and having all the same issues. I am holding tight at 35lbs too. I begged my dr and nutritionist to please help me. They ran every test in the book, but I am perfectly normal and healthy they say. First they thought I must be 'cheating' But after I went off on them and had a mental breakdown right there in the office they backed off real quick. Anyway they have no suggestions and even told me I was the slowest loser in their practice so far (nice right) like i didnt have enough preassure. She told me the same thing, it could be the amount of carbs I eat, but I try and keep that low too.

It sucks to have taken this huge step and put in all the hard work and dedication to not reep the rewards. I actually cant come on this board too much anymore because it gets me so sad seeing others lose in a month what has taken me 4.5. I wish there was some advice I could give you to help you as I feel your pain. Hang in there girlie, my surgeon and my nutritionist both think I will get close to goal, they just fear it will take me twice as long...in month 4 I only lost 3lbs and have been stalled right there again for 2 weeks...

Good luck sister. and keep us posted on your progress, Feel free to friend me if you want to chat offline, its not much but at least know you are NOT alone. {HUGS}

 you can get your protein in with 20 to 30 carbs just have to find the right stuff.... i eat tysons precooked chicken it comes in a frozen bag its 110 to 120 calories and 19 to 20 grams protein ok heres the better part 2 carbs per serving... they have different flavors so you can have different like chillie lime and chipolte regular i just found them at walmart a week ago it make it easier to do low carb... if i do 50 carbs a day i will not loose at all.... good luck i hope that works or your doctor figures something out

I'm a slow loser, too. At 9.5 months out, I've lost 48 lbs. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have lost it, but my doc was so sure I'd be at or surpass my goal by 6 months. It didn't happen. I also have hypothyroidism and I was taking synthroid for 3 years 100mcg daily--Two months ago I changed to Armour thyroid 90 mg and I lost 6 pounds within a month--the most I've lost in a month since month 2 post-op. Do you think maybe it's your thyroid meds??

Ashley,

My heart breaks for you, especially since you are so young and in order to get any answers or even directives, I have found that you have to be very aggressive with your medical team.  I'm in the same boat as you lost almost the same weight and about 3 weeks further out.  I first went to a bariatric Dr, not a surgeon and they raised my calories to bet 900-1000.  that worked well for awhile.  then i went to see an internist who specialized in exercise physiology and i discovered that my fat ratio is off.  my metabolism is only 27 but I'm losing from my lean mass not my scores so i have been working to build muscle.  I've also been tested for everything known to man and all my labs are fine.  since your seeing an endocrinologist I'm sure other than what you stated all is fine with your labs also.

The hardest thing i found in this journey was that the amount of effort i was putting in was not being rewarded and i could not get my Dr's to really give me a way forward and without a way forward i felt lost.  The whole low muscle mass thing at least gave me something to reach for.

My Surgeon was part of a larger weight loss program if yours is also maybe you can see someone other than the surgeon and dietitian.

I love my surgeon but i do feel that they feel in some way their job is done and I've seen vets on here who's surgeons have taken them down to 500 calories when they were not losing at the clip they felt they should.  Dangerous stuff.  For you still growing i don't think lowering anything is going to be particularly helpful unless you have a lot of processed junk in your life and it doesn't seem like you have.

Stacy Zoe has just formed a group today for slow losers.  I truly wish i was more proficient in technology so i could post the link, but alas.  but PM her and she will give it to you.  Maybe by pooling our information we can make some discoveries.

Take care.  Chin up

If I were you, I'd be frustrated too...

I just had a very long stall and decided to shake some things up by increasing my protein and calories... and as a result some of my carbs went up too (but my doctor's plan was never much of carb counting--- all they cared about was protein--no calories or anything like that--but the type A personality I have tracks everything).  I increased my protein to make sure I was getting at least 80 gm/day (from 70-80) with getting about 90 most days and my calories from 800 to about 1000-1100 and since last week I've lost almost a pound per day.  I read somewhere that sometimes your body adjusts to the way you are eating and slows things down and you need to do something to change it up by either increasing or decreasing calories... so maybe you need to increase calories-- to me this seemed like the opposite of what would be logical to me, but it seems to have worked for me.

Hope this is somewhat helpful! *hugs*
