My surgery is in 10 days. I plan on returning after two weeks off. I do have a physical job, but I have always been able to do physical things that most people wouldn't think I can do. I haven't told anyone at work that I am having wls, so I would have to come up with an excuse as to why I can't lift anything heavy. I had a minor car accident in June so I can say that my back  is acting up to disguise the truth for a while. I also work with two great people who can handle all the big stuff for me too, so I'm not worried about that part. I just worry about being on my feet all day and not being able to drink enough. Wish I could take more time  off but I used all my sick pay from taking 3 months off to recover from my accident so I had to use my vacation time instead. I reserved my last two weeks vacay for when I am skinny in the summer.

Iknow how you feel. I am trying to keep this as quiet as possible. I live in a very small rural community where gossip runs rampant.  I'm not embarrasses about what I'm doing because I know I'm doing it for health reasons(Type I Diabetic) but once gets out I will be the most vain person in town.  I've read on here that some people use the excuse that they've had ulcer surgery because the recovery is the same.  Maybe you could use that?

I drove to the hospital on a Tueday morning (Dec. 20th), had surgery around 1:00 or 2:00 PM.  I stayed overnight and all day Wednesday at the hospital.  I finally got released about 8:30 PM on Wednesday and drove home.  I had a rough night Wednesday, with the hiccups.  Took it easy Thursday.  Friday, I drove 4+ hours north to my Mother's place for Christmas holiday.  I stayed there the whole week and didn't have to work.  But I total feel that working wouldn't have been an issue.  I felt good, didn't really have any issues, and never really felt exausted or weak.
