Please give me a realistic answer
I think the realistic answer is that it depends. Your age, general health, and natural healing ability as well as the ease of the surgery will determine how ready you may be to return to work. So sorry to say there isn't a definitive answer. I probably could have done some work after a week, but I was still tired and might not have been able to work 8 hours straight. I was out for 2 weeks for my sedentary job... that said, I was SMO and 50 this year, so I wasn't in the best shape to start with. Good luck to you!

I own a bookkeeping firm and do all of the payroll for our clients, with a few exceptions. I had surgery on a Tuesday and did payroll on Thursday. I DID get one of my employees to look it over to make sure I wasn't all overly happy and paying someone an extra few grand or something.
You should be fine. Just plan on it taking a little longer. Don't overdo it. I'm a bit of an overachiever and workaholic so I tend to jump back in - having said that, we're a virtual company so I work at home

I had VSG on Nov. 23rd and was back to work as a 3rd grade teacher on Dec. 1st. It is definitely possible, but I did experience some fatigue toward the end of the school day. Just be careful to not engage in any heavy lifting. Otherwise, I think that you'll be ok to go back. Take it easy and good luck to you......it's gonna be terrific!
You will need to have a relatively "smooth" recovery and you will need to be vigilant about your drinking, not testing limits by trying to eat something you shouldn't, and get lots of rest for the first few weeks. But yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus...lol
I was kinda the poster child for annoying post op problems that kept me throwing up and feeling icky so much that I needed to have lots of time off.
