Do you have a swimsuit that is too big?
Hey Folks! In my quest to swim my weight off, I had a great idea: collect useable swimwear & distribute it among those who want to start swimming!
I haven't figured out how I can pull this off, but I will try to figure out how to pay the postage for swimwear to me, then anyone wanting a certain size or suit will have to pay the shipping to them.
If you have suits you are happy to part with & give another person the opportunity to swim, please contact me!

I'm a little squicked by the concept of wearing a used swimsuit. I think I'll just take in the one I have, thanks.I have already passed SIX of my suits to new homes, and luckily, I didn't squig anyone out ;)
Just a project that I am hoping to be able to "pass it on" to others ;)

I wish I would have known this just before Thanksgiving---gave 3 to Goodwill.
But I'll have another one ready to go in about 5 more pounds.....a little faded but in good shape.
Goodwill should have a good supply of the suits I've donated over the past 20 months.
PM me your address if you're going to move forward with this and I'll send it on. And more as I continue to, also, swim my way to goal! I've followed your blog and don't have near the endurance that you have developed. Hopefully, persistence counts----I just do a mile a day!

I just sent my old swimsuit to Goodwill, too. I was going to put it in my "pay it forward" box, but thought the recipient might be squicked out. LOL
Maybe Goodwill is a good place to look for a swimsuit right now.
Very nice thought, though. I would love to see all of us help each other out with some of our least-worn and nicest clothes. I am finally shrinking out of the awesome box of scrubs that Kimbethin sent to me -- I don't know what I would have done without them.

Great idea, can you send me a link to your blog? I would love to start swimming when it gets warmer here but have no clue where to start on exercises etc. I tried watching youtube and that didn't help!
I think you already found me - I swear I had an email from you! Anyhow, I am at mile 8 for 2012, and I swam 500 by Dec 30, 2011 -- and will be out of the water 6 - 8 weeks during April, but happy about it!!!
Seattle_Maui is my user name -- I will try to PM you, just incase you don't see this reply. I will also take "reservastions" for folks WANTING suits!!!

I think your idea is awesome! I only have the one suit that I'm still wearing and I'm afraid it's not in good enough shape to donate to your cause, but applaud your idea and hope lots of folks can benefit from your brainstorm!
I won't be swimming here for another 5 months, as the weather is just too cold (no pools in the area), but once May rolls around I should be in the water regularly until mid-September. Will keep you in mind when the time comes!
Thanks!

Hey Sandi,
I looked you up, and guess living on an Island may be limited... I swim at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way Washington -- which will be home to the Summer Olympic Trials in March!!!
Swimming is something I think most folks can do, and frankly, fat floats, so I have never worried too much about drowning ;) I actually shared my idea at the Aquatic Center, as there are many of us larger folks using the facilities, and I hope to help others out!
Thanks for the comment, and I appreciate you taking the time to send me the private message!!!
