1 month out...how were you feeling/eating?
I've lost 20 pounds also and have had a hard time with my water and protein. I just ordered some protein powder to add to meals. I have found that I am able to tolerate watered down apple juice if it's very cold. I know not the best choice but I seem to be able to get more fluids in with this. I'm hating my protein shakes right now but am trying some add ins with those today and have been getting exercise by moving into a new home but look forward to getting out and walking. Wish me luck.
I am about to start my 5th week and have only lost 15 pounds since the day of surgery (+13 during 2week pre- op). The fluids are a struggle, but I am getting my 64 oz each day and getting about 60 grams of protein. I feel fortunate to have had no real problems, going carefully with new foods, but all good so far. I'm exercising way more than before, but not nearly what many of you are doing. I have a very bad knee, but I can walk or treadmill if it is flat. A little bummed at not losing more, but very hopeful for a healthy new year!
I am coming up on 5 weeks and I must admit I kind of suck at this. I do try to get in my protein, I eat four very small meals and a shake a day. I drink fluids all day but I really have no idea most days if I hit my goals or not because I don't track my food regularly, I have been dancing and shopping for exercise and will return to the Y this week. I will focus from here on in on tracking my intake on fittness pal and getting my activity up. I will return to work on Friday, I work 12 hour night shifts so I just hope I can stay awake. Other than that I have lost 43 pounds in all, 23 since surgery and I love my sleeve! Hey, does anyone here drink from a straw at all? I get why we shouldn't but I just want to sip from my straw cup during the night.
I read on a different post that some people do drink from straws without incident. I won't try until after my 6 week point.
