PCOS and Acanthosis Nigricans (dark spots)
Does anyone have this? I have PCOS and mine is bad, especially around my neck and other areas of my body. I hate it so much. I have always heard that weight loss seems to resolve this, but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience first hand on this, and if it has faded significantly since surgery. I am so tired of trying to cover it up!!
I would have posted this on the PCOS board, but it’s slow over there!
I had both. And if the pcos hasn't gone away completely, its regulated. a lot. and the Acanthosis nigricans, is faded dramatically. itsstill there a little bit. but it's really not noticable unless your trying to look for it.

I do----my grandmother use to swear that I was not washing my neck but found out years later it was from the PCOS, my eye lids are super dark too. I was taking spiralactone and my neck started to lighten up. (I had no idea that there was a PCOS board on here). I am PRAYING that the weight loss will clear some of it up too, I also have the excessive hair issue.
PCOS is a crappy thing for a woman to have. I have seen on YouTube where it is not as dramatic after weight loss.
Good luck!

There is a message board specifically for PCOS called soulcysters. They have a weight loss surgery forum there under the special populations, diet and exercise or health and wellness. I used to frequent that board regularly years ago. It's a really good site for PCOS. You can probably find someone who can answer that question.

Skin tags are usually not going to go away on their own but the derm can take them off for you or you can google quick ways to remove them. From what i hear snipping them off doesn't hurt as they don't have nerves but I'm way too scared to do it!
I'm going to the derm on Tuesday to get a HUGE one taken off. I'm terrified.
