6 months today and back on the wagon...

I hadn't fallen completely off, thank goodness. But I certainly could have. I've been having a problem with peanuts. So they're gone. Thanks Elina for telling me to get rid of them. I KNEW I had to, but it always helps to have someone else say "yeah, get rid of them".

So, I blogged about it all here today. Where I am and what's going on. Click my under my photo on the left to go there.

I'm doing okay. Feeling great. Life is completely different than it was six months ago for me. I have NONE of the clothes (except socks - even my shoes changed) that I started with. I can move. I feel good. I look pretty damn good. I love life.

Congratulations on all of your weight loss!  I agree the forum helps :)  When i was in my 2 week diet pre op phase, I went out to 5 guys with the hubby.  Somebody on here was direct and to the point, and that was entirely what I needed.  Not to mentioned it sparked a great conversation with the hubby about each of us enabling the other.  He has lost more weight than I have so far on this process!

Yup, it's great to have someone to give you a hug when you need it, but also to say "hey, cut that out!" :)

Yep, I had the same problem with my Protein bars - loved them too much. I was able to keep them in my program but I had to plan my food day with them being eaten in the afternoon - the time I tend to want to snack. I also had to add one more evening snack which is usually the other half of whatever I had for Dinner. 3 meals and 3 snacks seems to be working good for me.

The great thing about the wagon, it's always right there waiting for us to jump back on.

Best of luck.

Yup, I'm not sure I could have found the wagon without the surgery to be honest :)

I don't seem to have a problem with the bars. I can keep those around. I grab one when I workout with my trainer. They are yummy though! (I like Power Crunch - peanut butter is my fave).

I was doing the 4-6 mini meals, but I'm moving back to 3 meals per day for now... I found I wanted to graze all day instead of planning out my meals.

I had the same issue with cashews and also had to give them away. Eventually I was able to bring the cashew consumption under control and started allowing them in the house.

One of the things that helped me was measured bowls which started at 1 ounce and went up to a cup. I would serve myself 1 oz. of cahews and that would be my limit.

Now that I'm in maintenance and have met my weight loss goal I eat cashews regularly but still limit myself to 1 oz. servings.

You did right by getting rid of the peanuts at this point. Later on you may be able to exercise more control over them.

Good luck,
George

Yup. They are still in the house (my son loves them). I actually have no problem not eating what's in the pantry that isn't on my "plan of the day"... it's anything that was in that desk drawer. *laughing* So, I moved them. If I do get antsy with them again, I'll just toss 'em and my son will have to deal or go to the neighbors to get them. I can see in maintenance I'd be able to handle them. But I'm not there yet, tooooo tempting!

Great tip on the serving size. I discovered that one level capful was 1/2 oz... the problem was that I started ignoring the cap size. LOL.

Dude, I REALLY like peanuts. Bad peanuts.
