cuttin out the carbs ???? food list
Right after surgery, through liquids/full liquids and mushies I lived on:
home-made chicken stock w/ protein powder
protein shakes, frozen and blended or just straight up..
cottage cheese
ricotta bake
refried beans w/ greek yogurt, strained salsa
greek yogurt/Carbmaster yogurt
Babybel cheese
whizzed up hardboiled eggs (egg, mayo mustard, blend w/ a little water)
soft boiled eggs...
The first month was pretty boring, but I wasn't that interested in eating, so it worked well for me..
Now I pretty much eat meat, cheese, and a bite or two of veggies if room.. But, I make it taste great with spices, sauces, etc.. not boring, but def meat-centric.

They have about 30-35g per cup.. considering post-op, I could eat only 1/8 C (one ounce..) yep, they were certainly low carb at less than 5g a serving!~ (edit: +/- depending on brand, either way, my servings were in the 5-8g carbs range..)
You need to consider the volume you eat before you rule out a food..

I have yet to try a tortilla! :)
But in mushies, a bite or two is about the max you'll prob eat of anything (could not finish a soft boiled egg for over 6 weeks).. so as long as it had protein, I was game.. I needed (still do) protein supplements to even get near 70g protein though..
V8 also was on my list early out- 8oz =10g carbs, but add a scoop of unflavored protein powder and mix well (mix, let sit, mix again).. good source of potassium and some flavor.. but do be cautious- acidity can get the best of you early out (didn't bother me, neither did spices). I think I introduced v8 at almost a month post-op, but still have a protein virgin Bloody Mary once in a while..
