Hi,

I was just wondering are there really any foods that we should avoid.. I mean I kinda eat anything but in small amounts.. i have an occasional sandwich on 100 calorie bread, sometimes ice cream or chips, maybe pasta once a weak.. I know I don't get enough water in no where near 64oz.  Is the occassional foods I eat hindering my weight loss?   Thanks for the advice.  I have been stalled now for a month.  I am 6 months out.  I get my protein in and carbs usually about 65.    calories anywhere from 800-1000.   thanks again for all your input.

i don't know if there is a specific food you should avoid but i know for me bread is a no no it's my trigger food. I couldn't tolerate it at all at first and i"m sad to say i can now eat a little without trouble. the problem is it makes me want more and more. i wish i wouldn't have discovered that i can tolerate even small amounts because i find myself planning for bread treats. i've been stalled for about 2 weeks now and i"m sure my bread fixation is to blame. Went strict again 2 days ago and lost 1 lb already and i feel energy rising again. Good luck and hang in there your plateau will break

If you want to ramp up your weight loss, you got to cut out the carbs and get in the fluids.  You can always add them back after you reach your weight loss goal, but you are only frustrating yourself if you are eating a lot of them on a regular basis.

Maybe.

Are you closely tracking your food or are you guestimating? I've seen studies that show people underestimate calorie intake by about 50% if they don't actually write it down and track it.

Have your measurements changed (i.e., are you stll losing inches if not pounds?)

If you are continuing to lose inches, you're not really stalled. It's just a number on a scale.  It's the size of your body that matters. I wouldn't sweat it too much.  Your carbs and calories are probably a little high, your water low.  As you get further along you may go into a real stall if you stay at those levels.

Thank you. I guess my thinking is I can eat whatever as long as its small amounts and I can't think that way.. I am going to increase my water intake and count the carbs more.

I think sometimes we think eating less is ok, we will still lose. I am 9 1/2 weeks out and am staying very focused on the end result. Less than 30 carbs per day, absolutely no bread, pasta, potatoes, rice or crackers. I stick with only foods that are beneficial to me, mostly protein. Hang in there, you are doing well, just cut out the carbs and weight loss will resume quickly! We have a great tool, utilize it for all its potential! You can do it!!!
