Sometimes an outfit, jewelry and yes, even food--high protein, low cal, low fat & low carbs.

I try to also do something with exercise clothes, equipment or routine!

When I get below 200, I'm going to start riding horses again.  When I get to goal, I get new boobs, and tummy and of course a new wardrobe.  My husband promised at least 1k for a new wardrobe once I'd reached goal.

A massage for my 50 lb lost, a facial,at 75 pounds gone; went horseback riding in August for my big 100 lb lost celebration, that was a 4 hour trail ride ! Just last week, took myself shopping for the 120th pound lost and bought new shoes, as I no longer need a wide width shoe! (and my shoes were falling off my feet !)

Plan to celebrate when I get to goal of 170 - 9 more pounds but it's coming off soooooo slowly now....it may be months and months away !!!! With another massage and facial together for a spa day !!!

I noticed it's been mainly all 'girly' stuff, not to say that men don't get pedi's and mani's, but....here's a couple of 'guy' suggestions. Cuz I know my hubby wouldn't be doing the man/ped thing!

A new piece of fishing equipment(or camping, tools, or ??).
Perhaps a Nook or Kindle (or a few books you'd like.)
New workout I-tunes for your I-pod, or maybe even the i-pod if you don't have one.
2 tickets to a sporting event you'd really like to see.
New clothes....guys need to show off their success too!

Hope that helps.

First of all, get rid of the concept that you HAVE to reward yourself.  As my friends in AlAnon would say, "That's Stinkin Thinkin".

It was more than enough reward for me to HAVE to purchase smaller sizes in clothing.

It was MORE than reward enough for me to see that scale drop, week after week.

It was MORE than reward enough for me to NO LONGER require oral medication for diabetes.

It was MORE than reward enough to record, on a monthly basis, the reduction in the size of my neck, chest, waist, hips, thighs and biceps.

It was MORE that reward enough to be able to physically do some things, without pain, for the first time in years.

And above all, the ULTIMATE REWARD was to know that the probability was that I was extending my lifespan, so I can spend more time with the woman that I love.

I've developed a fondness for more upscale makeup than my usual drugstore brands.  I'm particularly in love with Urban Decay.  I reward myself with a new makeup item for every milestone that I reach, and I'm quite inventive about coming up with milestones....

50 pounds post-op netted me a nice little Benefits Lip Gloss holiday set.

I'm coming up on 75 pounds total and that will be the Urban Decay Midnight Emergency eye and lip kit.

The whole overweight category looms on the horizon, shortly followed by Onederland...  wow, I'm going to be beautiful!

I talk about this in therapy a lot actually. I work at home, I own a successful business with several employees. It can be REALLY high stress. She asked me once... "so, what will your treats be now?" because, like most of us here, I treated myself with food when something good happened or when something bad happened or just because I was stressed out.

YOU have to find the thing that works for you. For me, it's buying a book. I have more books than I will EVER read, but it doesn't matter. I love looking at what's available and reading the descriptions and making a choice of which one I want. It cost me $3-$15 (kindle crazy person here). Less than a meal out or whatever. It makes me feel good.

And yes... my family still celebrates with food sometimes. Now, though, my daughter and I share a plate most of the time and it's not an all out pig out fest. I'm eating to live, not living to eat.

I do confess I buy myself things.  Sometimes something as inexpensive as a couple songs on iTunes - .99 or 1.29 each, pretty safe.  Sometimes something from the thrift store. Sometimes a book, physical one or download.  Sometimes painting supplies (just getting into painting).  And sometimes an item of clothing.  OK maybe clothes more often these days, because they're just so damn fun to try on!

And then sometimes a facial or massage.  I would never DREAM of getting a massage at 250 lbs, I was MUCH too self-conscious.  Now I've got a lot of extra skin, which for some reason doesn't bother me at all when getting a massage.

p.s.  I live alone, no one around to object to how I spend my $$.  Good thing!  :-)

I splurged and got some face work done.. some filler where hollows had been bugging me for years, a little botox and that sort.. That's about it. Just kinda working on the self-improvement in looks that I had let slide along the years as I never felt like it would amount to anything pushing 300lbs. I honestly can say, the little tweaks made me very happy. So that made it worth it to me..
