Hi there and congratulations. I am 5 days post op and I get better everyday. My fourth day was good and today is even better. I haven't had to use pain Meds or even gas ex so I feel grateful for that. Everyday I get better being able to tolerate more liquids. I get full so fast that it's difficult to get all in in one day. I am losing a pd a day and am loving the surgery option of vsg that I decided on. Hope u continue successful accomplishments.

totally normal sounding, if that one incision is really giving you a hard time when you get up and down brace it with a pillow or stuffed animal (my daughter gave me her favorite teddy bear and it worked perfectly), giving it some support will help with the pain!

Thanks everybody!!!  I hope that this soreness does go away soon, looking forward to not having to take pain meds anymore and no more gas.  Not doing great at getting my protein in...I need to work on that today.  I know it helps with healing.  Seems like anytime I drink the gas gets worse though, so I'm just going to have to suck it up!!

I am five days out, that went by really fast! I also had a hiatal hernina repair with my sleeve so I take my pain meds around the clock. I probably could do without it but why grin and bear it if you don't have to right? I am good on fluids and protein, just cant wait to get cleared for pureed foods so I can get creative with my shakes. I'm craving a piece of banana in my strawberry whey isolate:) Anywho congratulations to you and I wish you much continued success!!! Sleevers rock!

Yay! You're home and sleeved! Glad to hear things went well. All sounds normal, bending up and down hurt my sites the worst. Just take it easy and let us know how things go!

Hopefully you are feeling much better by now. One of the things that really helps with gas is to not use a straw and be careful in the chewing and swallowing. I know it sounds silly and a little like overkill but with my IBS one of my docs was very insistent that I work to slow my breathing when eating, to chew & chew but be sure to keep your mouth completely closed while chewing, and not to use a straw to drink from - as well as to limit conversation while eating because he said the air that you take in with any of the above will not all go to your lungs - some will go to your stomach and cause gas, bloating, pain in the stomach and intestines. It totally worked for me - it took some practice with the talking part especially since I love to talk LOL!! - but I seriously could tell the difference right away. Hope your healing goes well!
