Can I just say that you are brave too? Doing this pre op thing and surgery right around the holidays is the bravest. You are going to do amazing. I just know it. It's the best decision I could have made for myself. Summer 2012 is going to be an amazing time for you... just wait.

Candy - CONGRATS!  I read your blog entry and all I can say is thank you for being brave and for being an inspiration.  I think you're kind of awesome for laying it all out there.  I haven't done that yet.  The only person that knows about my surgery is my husband and I'm comfortable with that for now, but who knows what will happen in a year's time.  My only fear with keeping it secret is that someone else will feel like a failure seeing my progress.  I'd hate to do that to someone, even unintentionally.

Anyway, thanks again and ENJOY your milestone and your successes!

Sarah - that's why I had to go more public. It was becoming a little ridiculous for me because I wasn't telling people but I wasn't not telling them and when someone asked, I told them and well... enough already. This is who I am, it's what I did. I'm loving life. Take it or lump it.

And yes, you do what you want when you want. Plenty of people decide to keep it 100% private and that's okay too. It's all about who you are and what your comfort level is.

That is amazing!!! I just hitt my 2 weeks.... What kind of work out plan are yall on?

At 2 weeks I was shuffling in front of the house wishing for death (I had serious nasty ab pain from where they sliced my muscles or something... *shutter*)

Anyway... I workout doing weight/strength training with a personal trainer twice per week. We do all kinds of stuff (and some crazy/weird stuff too LOL). On my own, I try to hit the gym's treadmill, elliptical or go for a walk at least 2-3 times per week.

Girl, I'm strong. Let me tell you, I can totally whup some butt if I want to. I LOVE the muscles in my arms and calves. I don't regret my exercise AT ALL. I love it. It feels good.

NOW - I only got the gym membership after surgery. The first time I got on that stupid elliptical thing, I did less than 5 minutes and wanted death. LOL. I found that intervals on it work much easier and better for me.

The point is... move. It doesn't matter what works for you - kettleballs (which I totally want to try - who the hell am I now?) - kickboxing - zumba... whatever... just get your ass moving.
