does switching from band to sleeve.......?????

i was reading the acid reflux post....i have such bad acid reflux with the band....for those who have gone from band to sleeve, does the acid get better ?????

Great question! Im switching from the band to the sleeve soon as well. My reflux only started once I got the band and then was excruciating once it slipped.

Cant wait to lose the band!

Never had acid reflux until I got my band.  Since I have my sleeve revision I do take PPI daily.  Isn't as bad as with the band but I don't want it to get bad.

Good Luck.  Getting that band out of me was the greatest thing.

my surgeon won't do VSG if I have relux b/c it won't help eliminate the reflux, but she said RNY will.  I have only had minimal reflux (once or twice) since all fluid was taken out of my band 1 month ago.

I was band for 4 yrs terrible reflux sleeve done its 90% better im on med for it as well.. im so happy with my change and revision. The sleeve is a great choice for band revision!! Between rny and sleeve i picked the sleeve along with my surg rec the sleeve also goodluck!
