new jersey bariatric patients ? anyone out there ?

i have an appt to see the group on tues.....i had the band in 06 and it SUCKS !!!! anyway, i would like to meet some other people that use this group....i love them....they did my original surgery and i am hoping to become revised to the sleeve with them right after the new year....keep me posted. thanks

Hi I'm from s. jersey the shore . was sleeved Oct. 13th went from 272 at my highest to 231 get weighed tommorrow at my surgeon 's office. I'm still new at this but I think I love it . Good luck to you I knew I didn't want the band so many people are not happy with it and then there are some that do well with it don't understand the differences. but I'm so glad I went with the sleeve so far I can have anything I want just alot less.

I am going for my Sleeve in the morning. I love reading and asking questions on here. You get a HUGE amount of support & information. Good luck with everything!

 I am in North West NJ (Sussex County). Used Dr Alexander Abkin and like him a lot, although he does way more RNYs than VSG. Havent been to a support group yet, but would love to find someone in my area who has had VSG. From what I have heard most of the people that go to the support groups in my area are RNY or Lap Band.

Anyone in NW NJ out there?????

Hi I am also using NJ Bariatrics. This is my second time around I was all set to have my sugery in July but I changed Jobs (Better one : ) so now I have a different insurance Cigna and they have a 6 Mos wait so now I will not be able to get sugery untill maybe March or April. All my test are now aged so I have to redo all of them. I am so glad to find someone else that is useing them so far  I love them everyone seems nice and they are help full. You can email me would love to get your take on them. 

I am in NJ and will have my sleev done the last week of Dec or first week in Jan. My surgeon is Michael Bilof. I had my lap band removed 3 weks ago. Had it since 2006. I am aware of Dr Abkin also, used to see him in my former work place (I am an RN) he is an excellent surgeon as is his partner Dr. Bertha. They, along with my surgeon are always voted best bariatric surgeons in NJ. Good luck to you!
I live in Morris County and would love to go to support groups for the sleeve. My surgeon holds on the second Weds of the month at the Barnabas Health Amubulatory Care Center at 6p.
