Proteinex - anyone use it?

Yet another question!!!  Does anyone use proteinex to get their protein in? My documentation from my surgeon listed as a recommended protein source.  It's supposed to be 18g protein in 1 ounce...It's also supposed to help with healing and be highly absorbable for bariatric patients.  I'm hoping that it will be helpful in getting my protein in immediately after surgery.  Please let me know if you have any experience with this!
Thanks!

According to the info I found online, it's made from hydrolized collagen.  Collagen, made from skin, cartilege, bone, vessels, etc., is not recommended as your primary source of protein.  According to a nutrition class I took pre-surgery, we should look for protein from whey isolate, eggwhite, soy, and collagen, in that order.

Same with protein "shots," made mostly from collagen.  Avoid them.

I've seen it in magazines...if you try it let me know how it works....doesn't sound like a bad idea when you read about it...

Bad idea.  Shouldn't at all be listed as a recommended protein source.  Collagen isn't anywhere near a complete source of amino acids.  Don't use it.   Stick to whey, casinate, egg, or even soy-based protein shakes.

The PDCAAS is a scale that measures completness and bioavailability of protein sources for humans.

Whey protein scores 100/100
Collagen scores 0/100.

Skip it.
