Sweet potato pie, turkey, mac n cheese, collard greens are my turkey day faves, but sour cream chips and cornbread rank high too. I'm going to indulge in the greens and turkey and maybe a bite of pie, no crust. I've already logged my food for tomorrow so that I won't stray from the plan much, if at all.
Edit...how can I forget potato salad!!! But since I'm diabetic, I've had to give that up awhile ago except for a bit or two on holidays.

Did your diabetes go into remission or resolve itself following VSG? I am diabetic and on metformin now for a month and a half and my surgeon said that I am not to take it post surgery at all (ever again?). Does insulin resistance go away just like that?
It's up and down. The healing process takes it's toll on glucose regulation. My surgeon like yours, says absolutely no meds (Janumet - Metaformin + Januvia), but Endo would like me back on when surgeon says okay and that doesn't look like that's happening. Professional showdown between two stubborn doctors...lucky me.
As of the past week, I've stayed in the normal range for fasting, but the diet sucks for glucose control, so during the day it's quirky. Surgeon has me reading and trying to follow the NEW GLUCOSE REVOLUTION guidlines for diet control of diabetes.
Just before surgery, my Endo was exploring the possibility that I may be a 1.5 diabetic, so it may never be truly resolved. Also, many different medical professionals I've spoken to have varying opinions on remission vs. resolve. Some don't belive fully in resolution as they feel other factors could bring it back on.

Hot Japanese White Rice with REAL American Turkey Gravy made from pan drippings that my mom makes....not the can stuff......
But not really a weakness.... I'll eat some (I'm in maintanance and allow myself up to 80grams of carbs +/-) ....just can't eat massive amounts like before....

Mine......would be hot wings or "taco truck" tacos. You know the cheap ones....with just meat, onions, cilantro, and hot sauce....yeah I can eat like 10 of them or probably 30-40 wings in a sitting.
I'm really not much of a sweets person....but if I had to pick probably ice cream is my sweet weakness.
For Thanksgiving.....stuffing or pecan pie would be the hardest for me to resist.
