Revision surgery from Band to Sleeve scheduled for 12/28/11--I'm scared to pieces...needs...

Finally the time has come and I've been approved for a revision.  I was banded on Sept 2010 and it wasn't too successful so now I'm scheduled for a band removal and sleeve on Dec 28, 2011.  I'm really scared of having complications such as a leak, blood clot, or whatever.  I believe this is my 2nd chance to finally get this weight off...but I'm really nervous...I need to be health and around for my 3 year old princess!!

You're right guys....I'm sure it's normal to be a little scared or a lot scared like me...but I'll be fine and the results will be worth it....Merry Xmas to me!

Consider this a Christmas gift to yourself!  I wake up happy, knowing that I'm less than 3 months out, 55 pounds thinner and more then half way to goal.

You will be extremely pleased with the results and everything will be fine.  Everyone is scared.

Do not be scared. Make sure you have a IVC filter placed about 5-7 days prior to your procedure to prevent blood clots. Make sure you follow all of the post op instructions and you should be fine. if you have any questions, call you provider. Good luck.

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement and the advice for the IVC filter...I will definitely mention it to my surgeon!

I just had a revision from the band to the sleeve on 11/5/11. I did great! I was also not succesful with the band. It was placed two years ago and I had no scarring around the band or port. I am now sleeved and loosing weight! I have lost 20 lbs in two weeks and I am so excited. This has been one of the best decisions in my life. You will do great!

Wow...you're doing great for having surgery on 11/5/11....congrats on your success and I too hope to be doing that well after surgery!

I also had Lapband surgery and wasn't successful on Dec 21 I will be having my band removed and having the sleeve procedure . I have went back and forth for the last year wether or not to have the sleeve. I feel that I am making a step in the right direction and you will do great, we will do great! Good luck
