100 pounds in 5 months?? That's what I like to hear! Did you exercise a lot during that time or did it just kind of fall off? So in the next 4 months the wl slowed down greatly. Is that normal? I am not sure what to expect... I have talked to my mom about it a lot and we kind of came to a consensus that if I could get to about 200-230 with NO complications and no malnutrition AND be able to keep it off that I should be extremely happy. It would be wonderful to be able to get there fairly quickly. I'm so tired of being miserable and not living life.

I did water aerobics at about 3 mths postop, until about 6 mths postop..3 days a week..one hour a day..and walked on the other days.  Since 6 mths postop i haven't done much as far as exercise..just some walking..and just moving more often because i can!

At 9 mths postop i had my first stall..i didn't lose anything for 2-3 mths..then it started coming off again.  I don't always follow the rules now..but when i do..i still lose 8 lbs a mth..even at 19 mths postop (just lost 8 the last two mths in a row).  So if you stick with your surgeons guidelines..you can and will make it to your goal.

shwag,

I was sleeved at 460 pounds, and in just under 7 months have lost over 180lbs.
I still have about 60lbs to lose, but I would have the sleeve over RNY or DS any day.

My Dad and step-mother both had RNY and are happy with it, but they pop pills (vitamins) all the time and still barf at least once a week when something disagree's with the "pouch"...

Good luck,

Jason

Do a search for Paul Gilbert.  I think he was over 400lbs and he has successfully lost alot of weight with the Vertical Gastric Sleeve. Maybe he will pop in here or PM him.

I may be totally asking a dumb question now, but what is RNY? I know of LB, VSG, and Gastric Bypass, but have no clue what RNY is.
