Well I go to my Sleep Study tonight and I'm not looking forward to it.  I know I'm not going to be able to sleep and I'm going to have to take a xanax to be able to sleep at all...

Anyone got any suggestion?

Thanks Jennifer

I went through this a few months ago. I took a tylenol pm and it worked okay. The bed and surroundings were actually very comfortable and condusive to sleep.  They wake you up all the time anyway. I was surprised that I slept, but I did. I had to go back for a second study using the CPAP because I have mod. to severe apnea. They set the pressure at 18 which is way to high for me to get use to. They lowered it to 15 and it is still too high. I have my surgery next Tuesday and I'm hoping to get off this stupid machine altogether. Anyone out there get off their machines after surgery?

I was worried too and I actually fell asleep after watching tv and she came in a few times because a couple leads came loose and then the next I remember she was waking me up to go home!! Results were NO sleep apnea.. you will do fine! Good luck!

My advice is to take the Xanax.  Don't try it without it.  Outside of that, it's not as unpleasant as it might seem.

Well, just go into it knowing it'll suck, but you'll get it done and be one step closer to surgery.  I'll be honest, I thought it was miserable, but I did sleep just long enough for them to get a good enough read.  I was never offered anything to help me sleep and they asked about all meds I had taken.   My best advice is to just see it as a necessary step toward your ultimate end result- sleep tight!
