Food Funeral gone bad...
My food funeral lasted from the day of my initial consult with the surgeon to 24 hours before surgery when I had to be on clears only. I gained 5 lbs between the day of the initial consult and 2 weeks before surgery. Probably more in the 2 weeks leading up to surgery. Yeah, I was a real horse....
SW: 342 lbs / CW: 175lbs / GW: 150lbs
My food funeral lasted about a week and I literally had a list of things that I wanted to eat before I started my liquid diet and I would check them off as I ate them LOL its a very normal process so dont beat yourself up about it, you've binged and now time to get on track and get to the Loosing side! Best of Luck to you and your surgery!

I had a list, too! And I found though I gained weight the week before my liquid diet, the fact that I said good-bye to those favorites really made the liquid diet much more tolerable. If I had a craving, I was able to say, "no, I've had that before and it won't help me reach my goal."
It's ok....no harm no foul. You gotta drop the stuff like "I can never have soul food again". Once you reach maintenance there is nothing wrong with having some of your old favorites. Nothing is really off limits for the rest of your life.
Now.....this does mean if you are able to tolerate it and it doesn't mess with your head.
I'm just saying I think that the whole "food funeral" and the thought that you will NEVER eat that stuff again can be a dangerous way to look at it.
Now....if you were eating McDonalds or some other crap....probably not worth it to ever eat that again. That soul food lunch sounds great.
