Yup, Texas too! We're not all cowboys/cowgirls. I've never owned a pair of western boots and I don't even LIKE country music!

On that note, I'm also not a Texan. I might live here now but was born & raised in Minnesota.

When I hear Kentucky, I think of all that pretty bluegrass and beautiful horse farms.

I only think of the beauty of Kentucky too.  Then after doing some genealogy research, I found out I have roots there...over a 120 years ago, but I guess I can claim KY as mine too, can't I?

This is probably going to sound horrible but I had to chime in..

Whenever my city it on the news in DC they always pick the WORST things/people to interview. Once it was about a flood and they picked some people that looked like the guy you described. Then they came to Leonardtown, MD to highlight the 'lawnmower' races as a St. Marys County tradition... really? lawnmower races... Makes me think of King of the Hill.

I try not to stereotype so I understand your concern. I am Canadian and I don't live in an igloo, drive a dog sled, or wear mukluks.  Everybody gets some kind of undeserved reputation. I haven't seen this show yet but will look out for it now.  It is alway interesting to see different ways of life.

I am from Cali and all my southern relatives say I am "ruined" by the liberals... I don't even follow politics, I'm just a pot smoking hippy.

Kentucky = rolling green lush hills and bright white painted fences!
My state?  When we're on the news (happens a lot during tornado season) invariably the news crew ignore 98 percent of our population to find the 2% that have on a bar-b-q stained tee shirt and not a tooth in their head!
