i tried stage 1 homestyle turkey for my first pureed meal. It was delicous but after I found out I could tolerate it, wanted "real" food so have been pureeing chicken, refried beans, cottage cheese, etc...

I bought quite a few jars of baby food...never ate any of them....need to find someone with a baby to give to.
They really are not necessary and I couldn't bring myself to eat them.

My nutritionist said not to use them so I never tried them. She said that they did not have the protein our bodies would need after surgery.

I tried one of the chicken or turkey baby foods when I started pureed foods, but it was the most disgusting thing I've ever put in my mouth. I not only spit it out, I spent the next 45 minutes spitting, rinsing, & gargling, trying to get rid of the horrible aftertaste. Then I spent several more hours feeling guilty that I used to give that crap to my daughter 18 years ago. Gross!

I did the same thing that Crystal did...LOL!  I even bought "gourmet" baby food thinking it would be more like homemade but yuck.  It was so gross.  I sent my kids apology notes...

Anything they can put in those little jars you can puree up yourself with a lot less additives and crap. Whirl some cooked chicken or ham in a mini food processor, add a little broth or soup and you've got a mushy meal!
