falling into bad habits.
Hi Everyone,
Lately I have had so much stress on me I find myself picking at work all night and it's not always good food... I find myself reaching for things that I had in the past and I don't know how to stop. My husband has still not found a job, helping raise my deceased sister's children and that is stress alone there father is no help to me whatsoever. I buy the clothes, feed them take them to school, dr's etc and he just goes to work and home to sleep.. I love the kids ages 16-15 and 10 but I'm getting tired.
Sorry so long but just needed to vent.. I don't know what to do about the over snacking throughout the night.. I work from 6pm till 3;30 AM...
Thanks for listening,
susan
I just posted on "Need Advice" from Sunshine. That poster asked a very similar question. You may find useful responses there as well. I left a quite lengthy response there as it pertains to stress--and is just as applicable for you. As a "vet", I first look for "need advice" then click on posts that I may have something to contribute.

It does sound like a very stressful situation and you have to somehow get some time to relax and time for yourself or you will burn out. Maybe a babysitter? Or really at their ages, can't you leave them home for a little while?
As far as the food goes...you have an overnight, long shift, your hours are different from other jobs, so maybe you are hungry and need to change a couple of your meals to at night, instead of during the day. If you eat something healthy and of more substance, maybe you'd stay away from the snacking. Give your body some high protein fuel and the urge to snack should subside.
Exercise is very good for stress, maybe start a routine, if you aren't already....
Hope things get better for you. :)
