Ok here is something to do once your rash goes away, might sound funny but will work. Use deodorant under your panni before exercise this way there will be no skin irritation and less friction.

Gosh, what a drag to be going through this when you're working so hard, and exercising so much.  It just isn't fair.

I've done all the things people have already mentioned--anti fungals, powder, foot powder, as well as deodorant.  Those things usually work for me, but I've never gotten to the point it sounds like you're at with a rash over a large area, and with skin breaking down.

Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to go to the doctor, not so much for documentation (though that's obviously useful), but just because it must be very uncomfortable.  Also, I'd probably stop the exercise until the skin has a chance to heal a bit, but that could just be me and my eagerness to use any excuse not to exercise. ;-)

This sounds like it could be yeast, I would totally go to the doctor and have them doctument it BUT if you don't want to pick up some anti fungal cream and try it (like Lamisil). I know how uncomfortable it can be, I get them quite frequently.

What I wouldn't do for a good rash right about now!!  I used to get yeast and heat rash all the time when I was 400 pounds.  Now that I have lost 200+pounds, I haven't had a single rash and I have massive hanging skin!!

But, I will give some advice on documentation.  By all means have your Dr see the rash.  They must document it and the weight of the Dr describing the rash over the statement "Patient reports another rash in the folds of her panni" is far better in the eyes of the insurance company.

As for things you can do, use a very gentle soap.  The NP in the derm office recommended Cetaphil cleanser to me.  It is so gentle and I truly have not had a single rash since I changed to it.  I started using the Cetaphil way before I had WL surgery.  The deoderant idea is a good one, but you may have to wait until you get the current rash cleared up before you do it as it may irritate it even more.

Hope you get some relief.  Rashes are not fun.

Here are my suggestions:

I would stop using bar soap and use your shampoo, assuming it is a good one. You want to keep the pH acid and not alkaline. Unscented cornstarch baby powder is good too to keep it dry. And if you aren't wearing one now, get a panty girdle, spanx, to lift it up a bit. Try exercising in the pool for a while, just as effective and no sweating!

I've used Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel on my inner thighs. Maybe worth a try? Sounds painful!

I have this same problem, and have for years considering the size of my stomach. It was never yeast...and the only thing I found that soothes it, relieves it, and clears it up....is diaper rash ointment, powders just seem to mix with the moisture and irritate it more.  The best one I have found is Target brand, it's in a little tub and one little tubs lasts a lonnnng time. It clears up in about 24 hours and I don't have to use it every day now. Good Luck!
