Incision Pics for Pre-Ops
Ok, I am going to try and post these pics of my jelly belly :) because someone else did it back in August, and I was glad to see what the incisions actually looked like. Sorry that there is some blurriness, but they were all taken with my cell phone. (Note that surgeons put their incisions in different places, and may make fewer or more sites than mine, so your incisions may not be quite the same).
This first one is five days post-op. There are four lap sites plus the drain hole site. The incision on the left is the one where most work was done through, and where the stomach was removed. It was bandaged until day five. The other three incisions look uglier because they have dermabond - a type of waterproof glue for skin. My drain hole site is still covered because it hadn't healed all the way up yet.
.
The rest of these pics are today, day 15 post-op. The dermabond has pretty much all come off, and my drain hole has sealed up. I used the quarter and pen for size comparison because I can't find my ruler. I am very happy with how unobtrusive these are going to be when the redness is gone.
Stomach removal/most work done incision
Incision over belly button, this had dermabond
One of the two smaller sites. It isn't as nice of a line, but is so small that it won't really matter once the redness is faded.
Drain hole site. It is tiny.

Mary,
Thanks for sharing this!! Very helpful to visualize and see what the incisions look like and how big they are... altho, for someone like myself who has tons of stretch marks from pregnancies and a beautiful (note sarcasm) scar from c-section, these are nothing!! LOL
How are you doing? Feeling? Thinking about you!!
Glad it helps!
I'm doing well. Thanks so much for your note yesterday, btw. I keep meaning to get on here and write you back and then I forget. Boo on me.
I know what you mean about the scars. I had breast reduction surgery 10 yrs ago and if you know what those scars are like - pretty much armpit to armpit, and keyhole scars on each breast - these are tiny little baby scars :)

My incisions are way up higher, I will take some pictures and post them except for the little one below the boobs. I have very little problem post op, felt like too many sit ups the day of surgery and the drain DON'T hurt. My Surgeon just told me to take a deep breath and HOLD it but as he was saying HOLD IT he pulled it out. Just felt weird, no pain.
Ok off to take some pictures
