Home remedy for Intertrigo (yeast infection in folds of skin?)

Yeah, gross, I know.

I've never had this issue before, but now that I've had the surgery I guess certain areas of skin are rubbing and touching where they haven't before.

Do you have a home remedy that you know works?  It just really started hurting today, and I can't get an appointment with my doctor until Monday.

Contemplating just going to Walgreens and getting some monistat or something.

I have bad rashes but i had cultures run to see what the cause was and they were negative for fungus, and positive for bacteria. All the anti fungals i took made it worse (((

I would prob get some anti funal cream and see if it works. If not, maybe get a culture and see what is causing it.

Im just counting down the days till i can get PS.

make sure you take pictures and have your PCP document any treatment for skin issues you have..   it will make your case for reconstructive surgery later on....

Kayla,
I know I've seen a similar post in the past.  Maybe try doing a search (top right and select forums) for rash or yeast.  I don;t remember what the other responses were, but I know there have been multiple posts on the same problem.  Good luck.

try antifungal powder, it feels better on the skin than the creams do.

I haven't had surgery yet, but I have had 2 C-sections and have a large lower belly roll where my rash occurs, I also get the rash under the boobies. I can always tell when it starts, there will be a slight itch & burning and I use the Gold Bond extra strength powder in the green bottle. I put it on several times a day & it works quicker for me than the creams that the dr has given me. ( a nurse in the ob/gyn's office face me the tip)
