Aetna denial!:(

I was supposed to have surgery on Monday, but Aetna kept dragging their feet with the approval.  Every day they told the office they'd have the "expidited" answer.  I finally got the appeal answer today.  they denied the surgery because they say I don't have all of my requirements in.  I do----and they've been faxed to Aetna many times.  They say I haven't completed a 3month multi dic. program, but I did....I even did more than that!  So no surgery.  My husband just lost his job, so by November I need to be working 2 jobs.   I can't really postpone at this point. 

Sorry for ranting...I'm just frustrated.   No need to reply....I'll keep up the fight and let you know if there's any change.  Thanks!

The best defense is a good offense. If you have all the requirements meet according the Aetna's printed requirements and have the documentation - file the appeal immediately and pay for or pay the doctor's office to have the documents overnighted certified mail. Also fax the documents again to Aetna. Call Aetna find out who is the decision maker, get their fax number and any other fax number in the approval department and fire a broadside. Good luck.

see if your doctor will over night it then you will have a tracking # and a signature from them.... Then they cant say they didn't get it by fax.. We have  been there many time w/o a job keep Ur head up... It will get better!

I feel for you and totally understand the time crunch you are in. I was just denied earlier this week too. Trying to figure out exactly what they need so hopefully one day things will work out. I start working crazy 75 hour weeks in the next couple of months and no way I can fit surgery and recovery time in there. Good luck to you, I hope you can get things situated to have your surgery someday (sooner than later) too!!

I was denied today for the exact same reason.  they said I did not have the 3 month multi dic program.  My doctors office said they faxed all the information and I have 4 months, I got a really nice gentleman from aetna that gave me an appeals fax number for anyone that is still having the issue. Hopefully it will all be faxed again and this time they will receive it.....Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!!!!
