Hi All, I saw a post a while back that gave some advice on how to drink to minimise burping.  Can anyone remember who it was from or what the title was?  Or if you have any advice I'd be grateful to hear it!

For me the burping drove me insane.  Out of a glass or bottle (like water) was the worse.  Then I discovered the Camelback.  Early out it was a godsend because burping kind of hurts for me.  I bought it at our Target store for about 10 bucks, I think.  I now have several and carry one with me everywhere.  It also has measurements in 8oz increments so I can track my intake.  At nearly 3 months out the burping is not so bad,  but I still carry my Camelback!

Good luck!

OMG. I will get this at Target. If it works, I will owe you big. I'm so SICK of the burping.  For me, it is much more associated with drinking water than with eating.

Thanks for sharing!  My son has a smaller version and I'm going to borrow it today to see if it will work for me.  =)  I'll try to post again tonight to share the results!

This worked wonderfully for me!  I still had some burping, but the bottle GREATLY minimized it for me.  I'm going to get a couple large bottles for myself this weekend.  Thank you again for sharing!!!

I am a champion burper!!  I am still  pre-op, my surgery is in November.    So  I read this thread with interest.  I also have used a straw, and no straw for drinking, I still burp like crazy.

When I saw the photo of this camel back I wondered why is it any different than any other straw type drink cup.  can anyone answer that??  Not trying to be a smarta$$ but wondered!

The Camelback was designed to minimize air in the stomach.  Post-Op my doctor said NO straws, but said this was great.  Instead of sucking, you bite the end and gently draw in the water.  I use a backpack version when I go on my 30 mile bike rides and keep the nozzle right next to my mouth.  No burping and no taking my hands off the handles or eyes off the bike path AND I keep hydrated continuously.  Love the technology!
