I am not trying to dis anyone's choice of surgery not am I looking to start a war.  However, for those people trying to make up their mind about what type of surgery to have, this is just more information to evaluate:

This "study" is not something I would trust when making my decision (if I was still making it), it's lacking in several areas and is not a very long term look at the surgery. There are many long term studies out there that provide much better information and much truer statistics.

Unfortunately many people will read it and take it for truth, sad that they might not pick a surgery that would be best for them based on false information and incomplete studies.

Thanks for sharing this.  This is exactly why I would never consider the bypass or DS for myself.

Thanks for posting.  Makig a decision to have elective surgery is HUGE.  It, like marriage, should not be entered into lightly

Check out the discussion on the main forum.. this "study" was very poorly done. It screamed biased from the get go when you read it. Unfortunately since it was picked up by major media news.. it will be taken as gospel by the majority of people who don't understand how to pick apart medical studies.. Bleh.
