how much fat?

I am two weeks out -on purees and able to eat three 1/4 to 1/2 cup meals a day.  I'm shooting for over 60gms of protein (nut put me on 56gms) and less than 40 of carbs but was wondering how little fat should I be aiming for?

I ate full fat foods during my entire losing phase while I was low carbing it. I even eat full fat in maintenance only because the sodium/sugar/carb count in fat free/low fat foods are so much higher.

I had no specific "fat gram" guideline considering we are eating so little, and low carbing, our bodies need fat to function properly.

Same here. Full fat, unless I prefer reduced for taste (like string chz).. 
We especially need to eat at least a moderate amount of fat while low-carbing. Other than that, it really isn't the fat that causes the metabolic/hormonal/chemical issues that lead us to store excess fat- it's the effect carbs have on the human body.

I ususally don't worry about fat grams. Just concentrate on calories, proteins and carbs.

I don't even really look at fat grams on labels anymore, just carbs, calories, and protein. 

On the other hand, I don't eat butter straight out of the package, either.

Just use common sense and you'll probably be fine.

When I was at your stage both my surgeon and NUT said not to count anything but protein and fluids. YET.

I still don't count fat. At all. Full fat for me. However, I have turned into a white food Nazi. Yep, I said it out loud.

Well wait - I agree mostly with everyone except I was told to avoid highly saturated fats, like fried foods or really high fat grams.

Actually, everytime I've eaten something with high fat (not counting naturally occurring fats), my stomach yells at me for days.

So for me, avocado or peanut butter don't bother me a *****eese is ok too but I do buy the lower fat cheeses anyway.

But I (bad girl I know) had some fried chicken. I thought I was going to die. It hurt going down and I only got a couple bites in before my stomach absolutely threw a fit. I had to recover with a protien shake to try and stop the fireworks in my stomach.

I was also told that while we typically will not get dumping syndrome, it CAN happen with high saturated fats.

I think what most here are saying is that the naturally occurring fats are fine - whatever is in the protein naturally.

I'm just saying be careful, you won't be eating butter soaked fish anytime soon without some discomfort!

Interestingly enough, I was just reading about saturated fats the other day.. did you realize there is absolutely no scientific proof linking them to heart disease? Now, personal intolerance is another thing, so to each their own.. but the old advice of avoiding them because they are bad for your heart is totally unsubstantiated!
