How is your weight loss progressing?
How is your weight loss progressing since surgery? I had VSG on June 29th and have lost 33lbs since surgery date and 42 lbs since my highest weight pre-op. When was your surgery and how are you doing? Just wondered if I was on track. : )
Pre-op highest weight:361-Jan 21, 2011
Weight day of surgery:352-June 29, 2011
Current weight: 319-August 21, 2011
I know it's tempting to post these kinds of questions, but really - don't compare yourself to everyone else. The range of losses is pretty wide - it's easy to feel like you are "off track" when really, you are doing just fine.

I agree with Acbbrown.. plus you have to really consider % EWL (excess weight lost) not pounds lost anyway.. Considering a person who is only 100lbs over ideal, vs someone 200lbs over ideal.. 20lbs lost means 20% gone to person A vs 10% to person B.. Many forget this and get frustrated only focusing on the pounds lost..
While I agree with the above posts, I also know the desire to know how my weight loss is comparing to others. And since we have the same surgeon, I just had to reply. Welcome to the VSG life, it's grand!
I'm now 5 months post op, and have lost 52 lbs, which is about 60% of my goal weight loss. I didn't lose any last week, bummer, and it's certainly slowed down. I'm trying to learn how much I can eat, though I still find myself uncomfortably full due to eating more than I should. Last night, two ribs and some roasted veggies almost did me in, I did fine with the ribs, but wanted more of the veggies than my sleeve did. Tonight, all I could handle was a roasted chicken thigh and half a leg.
How I'm doing, in my opinion, is terrific! While I wish the lbs were falling a bit quicker, I know that I didn't get this weight quickly, and I am glad that I'm learing a way of eating that is continuing to slowly drop the weight. I have much more energy and can walk without the previous joint pain. My wardrobe has required a complete replacement, and my friends and coworkers are all complimenting me regularly, so I am very satisfied with this decision.
I am glad to hear that you are doing so well on your journey. Dr Houston will take good care of you, and feel free to message me if you want to connect.

I just came off of a stall and I am SO glad the scale is moving again. It was very disheartening to step on the scale and not see the numbers move. I had my surgery the day after you. I've lost 43 pounds from my pre-op weight and 30 of that is since surgery. It's slower than I want, but I keep reminding myself that this is not a sprint. It took a long time to pack on these pounds and it's going to take a while to take them off.
My stats are similar to yours, see my signature.
I've lost 43lbs since surgery, which I had about a month before you. The last time I saw my surgeon, he said I was ahead of the curve in comparison to most of his VSG patients, so since you're just 10lbs and 1 month off from me, I think you're doing fantastic! :)

I had surgery the same day as you and have lost 35lbs, doc says "doing great". But he also says to be sure I am not comparing myself to others, I didn't get obese overnight, I'm not going to get it off over night. Like everyone else, I'm sure I worry that I won't lose anymore, etc. I also don't have a set of scales in my house, because I am not going to obsess over it every day. I weigh about every 8-10days, and when I get down to goal, then I'll buy a scale again. What I do pay attention to is how are my clothes fitting, and how do I feel today.
